Week 15: Upgrades and Downgrades
Dr. Fantasy Football
December 16, 2005

Congratulations to those of you have made the playoffs or are still alive. No matter you are in the semifinals at this point and there is still work to be done. I usually don't like to make dramatic changes to lineups but this week presents interesting twists. You may need to re-consider you starting cast as some teams have difficult tests this week. Absorb the information below and then you can make the call.

UPGRADES

Jake Delhomme

Delhomme has faced a tough schedule the past few weeks. He and Smith should connect big time.

Other Upgrades: Matt Hasselback, Carson Palmer, Kurt Warner.

Shaun Alexander

Alexander will run rampant through the poor Titans defense. The return of Darrell Jackson should ease teams from stacking the box against Alexander.

Other Upgrades: Larry Johnson, DeShaun Foster, Ruben Droughns.

Marvin Harrison

Harrison has quietly rebounded from a poor first half of the season. He now leads all receivers in touchdown receptions. He should continue his streak this week.

Other Upgrades: Torry Holt, Steve Smith, Larry Fitzgerald.

Tony Gonzales

Gonzales has posted solid numbers that past few games. He was another high draft pick that start off slowly. Gonzales will continue his rebound this week.

Other Upgrades: Chris Cooley, Todd Heap.

Adam Vinitieri

Both teams match up well against each other. Vinitieri usually comes up big in critical games. He should prevail in Foxboro this weekend.

Other Upgrades: Mike Vanderjagt, Shayne Graham.

Carolina Panthers

Aaron Brooks is riding the pine which means the Saint are in serious trouble offensively this weekend. The Panthers defense will eat them for Dinner this weekend.

Other Upgrades: Chicago Bears, Miami Dolphins.

DOWNGRADES

Michael Vick

Vick will look amazing against bad defenses but this is the Bears. The Bears will bring Vick down to earth this weekend.

Other Downgrades: Chris Simms, Gus Frerotte, Drew Bledsoe.

Domanick Davis

Davis is injury prone and may not play this weekend. He has occasionally break out games but should be avoided this week.

Other Downgrades: Carnell Williams, Warrick Dunn, Michael Bennett.

Brandon Lloyd

Alex Smith clearly will need time to develop. Lloyd has the talent to be a good receiver but until he has a supporting cast he should be avoided.

Other Downgrades: Terry Glenn, Lee Evans, Chris Chambers.

Zach Hilton

Hilton should be avoided with or without Brooks. Basically this is a jab at the Saints for giving up early.

Other Downgrades: Jason Witten, Erron Kinney.

Todd Peterson

Falcons are going to have a hard time moving the ball this weekend. It will be cold and windy in Chicago this weekend. I would avoid this dome kicker.

Other Downgrades: Joe Nedney, Lawrence Tynes.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Buccaneers have been playing very well as of late. I have a bad feeling about them going up to New England. Brady has shown the ability to rip apart any defense.

Other Downgrades: Buffalo Bills, Philadelphia Eagles.

Good Luck!
